Design and Drawing for Production CADD

Topics Covered:

This course will introduce basic skills and knowledge used in mechanical drawing and design with basic board drawing and CADD programs (computer aided design and drafting).  The primary focus of the class is to conceive, design and illustrate 2-D and 3-D objects using accepted drafting techniques and standards. 

 

General Class Guidelines:

All assignments will be performed in the art room or the computer lab during class time.  Assignments can be made up during the extended day on Wednesdays. 

 

Supplies:

All books, materials and tools will be provided.  However, students must have their own #2 pencil.

Mechanical Drawing; CAD Communications by French, Svensen, Helsel, and Urbanick

The Cadkey Project Book, 5th Edition by Dr. Leonard O Nasman

 

Final Grade Calculations:

Each quarter grade will count for 20% of the Final Course Grade.  All students will take a Mid-term and a final exam, each counting 10% of the Final Grade. Exemptions will not be given.

 

Tardy To Class Policy:

Attendance will be recorded at the beginning of each class.  Every third time a student is tardy they will receive one detention.
