7th Grade Art

Topics Covered:
This course will develop basic skills and knowledge
about tools and techniques for making visual art. Students will be introduced to the elements and principals of
design through class discussions and various art making activities.
In addition, students will be responsible for readings and
discussions about how visual arts function in our society to define culture and
history, influence the design practical objects, and serve as a venue for
individual expression.
General Class Guidelines:
This is a ˝ year course. All assignments will be performed in the art room during class time. Assignments can be made up during the extended day on Wednesdays. Everyone will be assigned a seat at one of the tables.
Supplies:
The school will provide materials and tools. However, students must bring their own
#2 pencils.
Final Grade Calculations:
This is a half-year course and will count as ˝
credit. Each quarter grade will count
for 40% of the Final Course Grade. Two
“class participation “ grades will be recorded each week and will count 50% of
each quarter grade. All students will create a final project
that will count for 20% of the final grade..
Tardy To Class Policy:
Teacher will keep track of the number of times a
student is late to their class. Every
third time a student is tardy they will receive one detention.
