Studio in Sculpture

Topics Covered:

Studio Art is an exploration of three-dimensional art making, tools and techniques.  This will include sculpture and ceramics. The class will also include readings and discussions about sculpture and ceramics of the past, about how visual arts function in our society and serves as a vehicle for individual expression. 

 

General Class Guidelines:

All assignments will be performed in the art room during class time.  Assignments can be made up during the extended day on Wednesdays.

 

Supplies:

All are materials are provided.  However, each student must bring their own no. 2 pencil.   Book: Art: Images and Ideas  by Laura Chapman

 

Final Grade Calculations:

This is a half-year course and will count as ˝ credit.  Each quarter grade will count for 40% of the Final Course Grade.  Two “class participation “ grades will be recorded each week and will count 50% of each quarter grade.  All students will create a final project that will count for 20% of the final grade..

 

Tardy To Class Policy:

Attendance will be recorded at the beginning of each class.  Every third time a student is tardy they will receive one detention.
