Stone Hall

Hall was built in 1835. In
less than one year, $7,000 was raised to build Stone Hall. Stone Hall was completed and opened for use in
Nov. The first Stone Hall stood in front of the present Stone Hall. It was 40
ft by 86 ft, and 4 stories high. The first floor was used for classes. The
upper three floors were dormitories for 80 students. In March 9th, 1856, Stone Hall
burned down.
