A Message From The Superintendent

Welcome to Franklin School Website

January 2019

Dear Franklin School Community,
Welcome to the Franklin Central School District and the 2018-19 academic year. Franklin is a rural district located in Delaware County of upstate New York.  The district is 66 square miles and has an enrollment of approximately 280 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.
We look to continue and enhance the quality educational services that we are able to provide for our students and families.  Part of this work involved collaboratively revamping our mission, vision, and core beliefs at the end of last school year. The results are as follows:
Mission: Educate and empower all students to maximize their potential as learners and citizens.
Vision: Provide an innovative, world-class education that propels each student to grow and succeed.

Core beliefs:
  • All students have an equal opportunity to learn.
  • Students thrive in a positive, nurturing environment that encourages learning and creativity.
  • We provide a safe and secure environment.
  • We treat all with respect.
  • We value and practice open, honest communication.
  • We work hard and are responsible for our actions.
  • Our educators and staff continuously strive to enhance their knowledge and skill.
  • A partnership among school, family, and community is essential to our success.
  • Our school is the heart of the community.

In my third year as superintendent, I remain appreciative of this opportunity and look forward to continuing our work together.  My 26 years of experience as an educator, evenly split between classroom teaching and building-level administration, has reinforced the importance of both building strong professional relationships and working collaboratively.
It is clear that we have an outstanding group of adults ensuring that all of our students can reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.  We look to partner with our families to provide students with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and opportunities to allow them to be successful as students during their time with us, and beyond.
In Franklin, we believe that positive attitude and energy are essential for success at any level.  We are a school where input is gathered, humor is appreciated, camaraderie is apparent, and decisions are made together.
We look forward to serving our school community and welcome your feedback at any time throughout the year.  We invite you to contact our offices with questions, concerns, or ideas.
I am proud to be your superintendent in a district where hard work is valued and students come first.
