Membership in this prestigious organization is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a middle school or high school student. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes students for their outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.





Eligibility Requirements

National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society is available to students in grades 7-12 who meet the requirements for membership.  Junior Honor Society members consist of students in grades 7-10 and National Honor Society  consists of students in grades 11-12.

Eligible students must have an accumulative average of 90 or better.  Current members must maintain an accumulative average of 90 or better in order to remain eligible. 

Members who fall below the standards which were the basis of their selection shall be warned in writing about their deficiency. These standards include an overall GPA of 90% or better and a commitment to service, character, and leadership. If further infractions occur after a written warning, the Faculty Council can convene to discuss and vote on dismissal. Seve

Members who resign or are dismissed are never again eligible for membership. Dismissal of a member shall be determined by the Faculty Council. 

Members are required to have 4-6 service hours a month. These hours are tracked by the NHS/NJHS advisor to make sure members are in compliance.  Service hours are obtained when a member volunteers time to their community and/or organizations.  These hours cannot benefit the member themselves.
