Introductory Letter

Dear Franklin Family,
I am truly honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Franklin Central School. It is a privilege to join a school known for its rich traditions, strong sense of pride, and deeply connected community. With 27 years in education—10 of those as a classroom teacher and the past 17 in school leadership—I am deeply committed to building a school environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. My approach to leadership is grounded in collaboration, open communication, transparency, and a genuine respect for the incredible work our educators, families, and students do every day.
After spending several years in South Carolina, my family and I are thrilled to be back in the area. My wife and I are the proud parents of a lively 9-year-old daughter, who is just as excited as I am to be part of the Franklin school community. As we begin this new chapter together, I’m eager to get to know each of you—students, families and community members. I look forward to working alongside you to ensure FCS remains a place where excellence is the standard and every child feels seen, supported, and loved.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, ideas, or just want to say hello. Here’s to a great year ahead—together!
Warmly,
Michael Ames
Principal
